JEN KROEGER
Jen Kroeger is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Tampa Bay. Using paint, mixed media, and textiles, she creates vibrant, uplifting abstracts that reflect her love of bold color and natural surroundings, with broader themes of interconnectedness and identity. Her artistic journey has been one of continuous exploration and reinvention.
She was influenced early on by her grandfather, a professional artist and illustrator. Growing up surrounded by art supplies, she developed a strong foundation in drawing and expanded her creative skills to sewing and painting.
In college, she studied art, transitioned into graphic design, and received her BA in fashion design.
She worked in the fashion industry until a move to Florida in 2012 marked the beginning of a new chapter in her career. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she took time to reconnect to her artist roots. She began creating textile collage, returned to painting, and established a new creative direction, exploring mixed media. In 2021, she rented a small art studio, diving full-time into her art career.
She is also passionate about creating community through art. In 2023, she founded SRQ East Art Studios in Sarasota. Spearheading the project from concept to completion, she transformed a commercial building into a thriving creative hub with twenty art studios, two galleries, and classroom spaces. Her dedication to fostering an artistic community is reflected in the supportive, inspiring environment she has cultivated for both herself and fellow artists.
She has been featured in the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts as a Local Spotlight Artist, selected as a sponsored emerging artist for the Florida CraftArt Festival, and was recently chosen to create a large-scale public commission for the new City Hall in Largo, FL. Her artworks can also be found in both corporate and private collections, as well as Tropical Home Fine Art Gallery.
