Jessica McCormick has a style that is balanced and meditative. Her works are purely abstract, a creative avenue to study the effects of line, color, and weight within a composition. Every piece she creates is both bold and meditative in the process and in its final result.

With her three-dimensional works, she revels in the repetitive motion of ripping paper over and over and then gets to exert her sense of control once more by deliberately applying the paper to a canvas to fulfill a vision that focuses on the power and balance of color.

In the end, she takes the chaos of the world around her, channels it, and transforms it into something intentional, meticulous, and balanced. No matter what, every piece she creates is both bold and contemplative in the process and in its final result.

Jessica’s works have received awards including the Tim Salen Memorial Award for Work in Any Medium at the Morean Arts Center and Best In Show at the Stirling Art Studios & Gallery 3rd Annual Really Big Show. She is a member of the Morean Arts Center, where she was in the three-person show New Retro in early 2022 and has also sold works in the annual holiday shows. Additionally, she was an Emerging Artist at the 2022 Gasparilla Festival of the Arts.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Stetson University and is self-taught as a visual artist.
